Funded by the Department of Education (DfE), EnterprisingYou is a government-funded programme specially designed to support self-employed individuals, including those who work in the gig economy and small business owners in Greater Manchester.
You will be allocated a business coach to over a 26 week programme and there you will discover your growth potential and ways to achieve your career goals through this programme. The scheme can help you with free advice in different areas, from personal skills and career development to business finance, training/ qualifications and mentoring.
We do not have access to the full list but we are aware that amongst the training courses available are the following NVQ Level 2 qualifications which may be of use to Construction Sector workers as they could then access the Blue CSCS Card on completion of the CSCS Health and Safety test:
- Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Interior Systems – Dry Lining Finishing
- Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plastering
- Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Decorative Finishing and Industrial Painting Occupations
- Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Wood Occupations
- Level 2 NVQ Certificate in External Insulation
- Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Formwork
- Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Steelfixing Occupation
- Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plant Operations – Excavating (360 degree)
- Level 2 Certificate in Plant Operations – Transporting Loads (Dumper)
- Level 2 Certificate in Plant Operations – Compacting Plant (Ride on Roller)
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for EnterprisingYou:
- Must be self employed or a small business owner
- Must be 18 years old and above
- Live within Greater Manchester
- Have a annual income of less than £27,000 – Total income after business expenses
